CHEER FAQ

Cheer Mission Statement

Our cheer program teaches cheer basics and advanced skills to promote spirit and excellence to both boys & girls in grades Pre-K through 8th grade. Our cheer squads are organized by grade level to best support the safety and needs of our cheerleaders.

We serve cheerleaders with ALL experience levels and EVERYONE IS WELCOME! Our cheer program is a great way to make new friends, build confidence and learn lifelong skills. We emphasize the importance of working together as a team and safety is #1!

We support one another and cheer on our football teams and most importantly.....we have fun together!

How much does it cost for my child to cheer?

There is a base registration fee which varies from year to year.  We begin advertising registration on our facebook page sometime in Janaury, with registration opening around March 1st.  This is for sideline cheer only.

Beyond the sideline registration fee, there is a uniform cost which will be announced as soon as uniforms are chosen.  We only rotate our uniform every other year to help alleviate the cost to parents.

Should your cheerleader choose to participate in comp, there is additional cost for comp cheer.  This fee helps us register for showcases and state competitions.

What kind of squads do you have?

Our squads are broken down by age groups as follows:
- Mini Dinos: Kindergarten and below
- Pink Squad:  1st and 2nd grade
- Purple Squad: 3rd and 4th grade
- Blue Squad: 5th and 6th grade
- Green Squad: 7th and 8th grade

Unfortunately at this time, siblings cannot be accommodated unless they fall under our grade guidelines above.

When do cheerleaders practice?

Our cheer practice for sideline begins in July through the end of October.

JULY
Conditioning only begins on Wednesdays in July.  This is optional.

AUGUST
Practices begin 4 days a week from Monday-Thursday, 6:00pm - 8:00pm.

SEPTEMBER
Practices reduce to 3 days a week, Tuesday - Thursday, 6:00pm - 7:30pm.  We will not have practice on the 1st day of school.

OCTOBER
Practices reduce to 2 days a week, Tuesday & Thursday, 6:00pm - 7:30pm.

When are games?

Our game schedule is announced by the NJFL and usually is announced by the end of August.  1st games are typically the first weekend after Labor Day, however first games have been as early as the last weekend of August.  We are at the mercy of NJFL when they release the schedule, but as soon as we know, we pass the information to our parents.

Generally our games are only on Saturdays, from September through October.  They vary from home games to away games, from Pierce to King county, dependent on who is in our league.  If one of our teams makes the playoffs, those occur in November.  Those game locations will be based on field availability and will be determined by the NJFL.

How does my child join Competition Cheer?

Competition cheer practices begin in September through January, with competitions as early as November and as late as early February.

Comp cheer pushes our cheerleaders physically and mentally to get them ready to participation in showcases to state finals.  It can be intense and requires a dedicated time commitment from each cheerleader.  Comp cheer is open to all cheerleaders who wish to join, however it is up to the discretion of the coaches if they determine a cheerleader is not ready for comp cheer.
